Target, Ducks, and Eggs

The title pretty much sums up our day. This morning (which started very early at 6) the boys and I went out to Target. Everett had gotten some Easter money (3 dollars to be exact) so I put it in his wallet and off to Target we went. His first purchase was a juice box. He insisted on sitting at the table in the cafe to enjoy it (while Hampton and I watched!)

When we were leaving the store a woman stopped and compliment the boys on how beautiful they were. Everett just eats up this kind of attention and exclaimed, "And we're having a sister!"
I continue to tell him that she is going to be a ballerina, and this thrills him to no end. He's got a thing for adoring ballerinas every since we introduced him to The Nutcracker last Christmas.


After nap, we went to the Sara Lee bakery outlet and picked up some "duck food" which is really just a loaf of marked down bread. We then headed to Lake Julian with the intent of feeding the ducks.

Unfortunately the ducks must have had their share of bread today because they weren't all that interested. Everett didn't mind. Especially when he spotted the playground.

Hampton will have his time on the playground once he decides it is time to walk. For now, he just enjoys being on Mama's hip.

We then walked around the docks and watched people fish. Everett really seemed to enjoy that. After dinner (I made home made Sloppy Joes and we had melon with it) we dyed some eggs.

This was really fun. It is hard to not stress out about the mess, but I think we did pretty well.

The finished product! We are planning on hiding them in our back yard this weekend for an Easter egg hunt.

Something to Celebrate

One thing is for sure: this family loves to have something to celebrate! This past weekend the boys' Gigi came for a visit and we were all about celebrating finding out about a healthy baby girl.

Everett and Gigi had fun playing outside with the sidewalk chalk.

On Saturday night we went out to eat at Carabbas. I won't say it was a disaster (Hampton wasn't feeling all that well), but it definitely wasn't a relaxed dining experience. At least we had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day.

Gail also brought along goodies of Easter treats and plenty of pink for Eleanor. I am really starting to build up her closet (and I did get those pink hangers). We are really looking forward to this Easter weekend and the biggest celebration of all!

Front Yard Fun

Today turned out to be a beautiful 70 degree day. Despite how tired I may feel, I still try and get outside with the boys and do fun activities. Today we played in the front yard and driveway. Everett drove around in his car. It is hard to think of fun things for Hampton to do outside since he isn't walking yet.

Blowing bubbles was a hit. It is so funny to watch Everett try and do it himself.

Hampton did pretty well with drawing with the sidewalk chalk.

And Everett pushed Hampton around in his car.

Something about outdoor play completely wears everyone out! I think we'll be sleeping well tonight!

More Of What I'm Loving Lately

Okay so really not a very good picture of me. We tried several times yesterday. However, I do want to remember what I looked like at 18 weeks and you can see the bump. I am loving this chocolate chip pound cake! I made it to celebrate yesterday and it is by far the best thing I have ever baked. Eric agrees. I even had a piece with breakfast this morning.

I love after dinner strolls through our neighborhood. It is so relaxing and serves to wind the boys down before bedtime.

I am loving Everett's Easter outfit with little embroidered bunnies on it. He is wearing it tomorrow morning for his preschool's Easter party.

I am also loving the fact that I am having a girl! I was still in a state of shock, but this afternoon I took the boys shopping and picked out these sweet outfits and hair bows. Now it feels real. I just need to get some pink hangers.

And most importantly, she is healthy. We feel so blessed.

What I'm Loving Lately

The boys finally feeling better after a week of sickness. Although, today Hampton got a fever again. Morning cuteness and finally being able to break out the jon jons and sandals.

Being able to play outside finally and 70-80 degree weather. We were actually warm yesterday!

Discovering sidewalk chalk and loving it.

Hampton "accidentally" discovering peanut butter as Everett, while in the double stroller, handed him the rest of his sandwich. So much waiting for his first peanut butter experience until 2. Thankfully he did not have any kind of reaction.

I am just loving my boys! I am also loving feeling baby #3's movements. We're excited for Tuesday because hopefully we'll find out who this baby is!

Update on Sick Day

Everett has done really well lately in learning to share with Hampton- in fact, today he shared his pink eye! Poor Hampton contracted Ev's pink eye in both eyes along with the virus/cold/flu stuff to follow. Now I have two sick babies. I knew later today Everett really was not feeling well (other than the fact that he told me) when I took them outside for a few minutes for some fresh air and he just laid in my lap and kept asking me to sing him "Rock-a-bye-baby." Another day at home tomorrow to rest and re cooperate. Praying for a night of full sleep.
