Playing Together

Who would have ever thought that an almost 1-year old and an almost 3-year old could get into so much? Whether it is Everett scolding Hampton for touching "his" stuff, or Hampton squawking at Everett for being too close and "annoying" him, it is really funny. But, for the most part they really love each other. I don't have a picture of it, although it will be forever burned in my memory, of the babies rolling around on the floor together and wrestling. And yesterday I overheard Everett giving Hampton a kiss and whispering "I love you so much Hampton!" Oh my heart might explode. I also love how much Everett can make Hampton burst out in laughter. I continue to pray that these two will be forever pals.

Where's the Ball?

Weekend

This past weekend was full of the usual busyness and fun. On Saturday morning we went out for breakfast at Dunkin Donuts. They were so good and it was fun. Then the boys' Gigi came to visit. While they were playing at the house I went to a huge consignment sale at the agricultural center. It took me about 15 minutes to shop and I stood in line for over an hour! I did have some good conversation waiting in line though. While I was gone Everett was playing outside, fell and hit his head on our wooden fence. He seemed alright at the time, but Sunday night he was acting funny and saying he was seeing "bubbles?" He also would not sleep! We called the nurse on call and she suggested we take him to get a neurological exam. So Eric and Ev headed to the ER at 9. Thankfully he checked out alright, even though they had to wait a really long time. The Lord really spared him and we are so thankful. Okay-back to the rest of the weekend.....Saturday night Eric and I went out to a Pomodoras, a restaurant we have been wanting to try since we moved here. It was Italian/Greek food and so good! We went all out with appetizers, entrees, dessert, and Eric got a cappuccino afterward. Sunday I did some grocery shopping and we had Boston Market for lunch. Aside from Ev's boo-boo a really great and very busy weekend!

Gigi and Ev playing golf.

Hampton getting into the bookcase. We are now having to tell him "no touch" for several things.

Like the fire screen. You can see my reprimanding finger!

He tries to persuade me with his overwhelming cuteness........

A Breath Of Fresh Air

Today the boys were a little off and more fussy than usual. Even though they took a three and a half hour nap, they were still off after nap. Fortunately it was 60 degrees out today, so I took them outside to play. Bonus- Eric got home soon after!

A little snippet of our outdoor time- Everett does a funny little run/trot and Hampton loves playing with the ball!

Donuts, Shopping, and Preschool Parties

The title of the post pretty much sums up our day today. It was busy, but really good. I have changed the two days I work to Mondays and Fridays. This now allows me to take Everett to preschool Tuesday and Thursday mornings. This morning we went out for breakfast before school. This was very special to Everett and throughout the day he talked about the donuts and chocolate milk he had for breakfast. After dropping Ev off at school, Hampton and I went back home and I put him down for his morning nap. I will definitely like having this time now because I got to clean and do my quiet time. After he got up, we went out shopping! We went to Marshalls first. He was very in to touching all the clothes.

After Marshalls we went to Target to get a few things. I told Hampton he couldn't tell Everett we went without him, being that this is his favorite store! We then picked Everett up from preschool at noon. He was very excited because they had a Valentine's Day party today. He had a bag of valentines from his friends and some special treats. After lunch the boys took their 3-hour nap and I got to rest! After nap time they had a snack. Hampton had yogurt melts and cheese......

Everett had skipped lunch so he had some chicken.

I then let them watch a video. The following two pictures are why we limit television time to about an hour a day......

When Eric got home from work we went out to dinner at Boston Market. I had a craving for their mac n cheese and sweet potato casserole. So good!

Such a good day today. I just love spending time with these little boys!

Pitter Patter of Little Feet

Our friends the Burkes came for a visit yesterday. We met at the Biltmore Estate. It happened to be a very busy day, and we had two toddlers, two babies, two pregnant mamas, and two dadas in tow. We made it through two floors and then low blood sugar and nap time quickly ended our visit. We then headed back to our house, put all the kids to bed and then Amy and I headed to the store and got some things to cook dinner. We had spagetti and meatballs and garlic bread with cupcakes for dessert. The best part of the day was watching all the boys interact and play with one another.

Hampton seemed to enjoy playing with another "little person."

The Burkes are expecting a girl. I can't wait to see what we will be having. We laughed at the fact that one day soon there will be six children between our two families!

Everett couldn't stop talking about Wyatt today. They were so cute together!

Wordless Post

Just some pictures I really love........

Chasing Messes

Well it is not even 3:00 yet, both boys are napping and although I am sure I will have more stories of "messes" to clean up today, I had to share our day so far.

Hampton woke up this morning with a big mess of a diaper. Jammies were dirtied for sure and I am now convinced I will never buy cheap diapers again. It is just not worth it. Mess #1.

Everett's preschool got cancelled due to weather (which I was confused about because the weather seemed fine) so he stayed home with us this morning. This kind of threw off my morning because I had some things planned for while Hampton was taking his morning nap. One was to bake some cookies, which I still tried to do, so I set Everett up with Play Doh. Mess #2. A big, crumbly multi-colored mess to be exact.

I then went downstairs to find Everett had managed to trash the playroom in only a matter of minutes. Mess #3. When I was getting Hampton up from his morning nap, I mistakenly left Everett downstairs to his own devices. In a matter of 3 minutes he completely cleared out a cabinet in our dining room and was playing with the contents. Luckily nothing broke! Mess #4.

I decided to take the babies to Target to pick up a few things. I had them all dressed and ready to go when Everett announced, "Mama I pooped in my underwears!" While I was cleaning up Mess #5, I set Hampton up in the middle of the kitchen with some plastic cups and spoons for entertainment. He managed to army crawl his way over to the dog's water bowl and pour it all over himself and the floor! At that point when I saw a drenched Hampton and Mess #6, I just couldn't help myself but to burst out laughing. Laugh at our crazy morning and laugh at the fact that I now I have two rascals to chase around. Life is definitely busy with two young children, so why not just add one more to the mix!?!

Cravings

This pregnancy has been very different than my first two. For one, I have had some serious morning sickness/nausea that has pretty much lasted all day. With Everett and Hampton I wasn't sick at all. I have also been having some serious cravings. I usually get at least one each day and they are pretty specific. Some examples have been: salt and vinegar potato chips, lo mein with wontons, Brixx pizza, Carabbas Mama Mandola soup with lots of bread, Jelly Belly jelly beans, pickles, hummus with rye bread, olives, and pasta to name a few. They hit me hard and I must indulge! So today on this cold and windy day I craved Coldstone birthday cake ice-cream. I shared my idea with Everett to go and get some and he thought that was a great idea.

Hours later and he is still talking about our ice-cream date!

Another First

Look who has his first tooth! This baby!

This picture is actually funny.....yesterday I went in to check on him at naptime and he was sitting up fast asleep with his head in his lap. By the time I got my camera, he was awake. So cute!
