My Dada Dressed Me Today

I think Everett should have been wearing some sort of sign today that stated that his Dada dressed him. I just cannot take credit for this.
Another fashion statement.
To Eric's credit, he does a fabulous job dressing Everett! Everett is one fashionable boy, who I guess is sometimes willing to take fashion risks. It usually works out for him, as he can pull off almost anything. Of course, I am biased! Since I have a little boy, I feel like I have to work a lot harder on finding clothes that are really cute, but I enjoy the challenge. I am currently working on collecting his Halloween costume, which I admit, may be a little out there. More to come next month in that area.

My Little Critter

The past few weeks Everett has really gotten into books. He is constantly bringing us a book to read to him. Last weekend we got him a few Halloween/Fall books at Barnes and Noble. This Little Critter book is his favorite. This book can be hidden under a pile of books, yet he will find it and chase us down yelling "this this!!!" Eric and I have it memorized after having read it for the 50th time. I think Everett prefers Eric reading it over me because he does the best voices. Another funny thing is once we start to read it, he runs off. I think he just wants it as background noise. I think he definitely inherited the love of books from Eric. Just another thing that makes him more like his daddy!

Pancakes and a Picnic

We usually like to plan fun family activities on Saturday. So we started today off with a big pancake breakfast. We then went to storytime at Barnes and Noble. For lunch we went on a picnic. Everett did so well sitting on the blanket for lunch and then we he was done, he was off! In fact he burned off so much energy, that he fell asleep on the way home. Tonight I made potato cheese soup for dinner. I forgot how involved making soup is, but it was definitely worth it! Overall, another fun, memorable family day. In fact, I have started planning for the next.

The Sweetest Sound

Today I got to hear one of the sweetest sounds....the heartbeat of our next child. I went in for my first OB visit and the doctor said everything looked great. The heart rate was 151 bpm, which I think was a little faster than Everett's. Next week will be the last week of my first trimester. This pregnancy is definitely going by a whole lot faster than my first. Today I realized how I have been taking a lot of the blessings in my life for granted. This new baby for example, is a huge and unexpected blessing! I also realized how I take Ev for granted as well. God has given us such a healthy, smart, funny, well-behaved, handsome boy. As his personality continues to emerge I love him more and more. I never want to get so caught up in the everyday stresses of life, that I take my family for granted. I love my little family so much, and God has given me a good one!

First Parade

Everett experienced his first parade this morning at Middletown's Family Fun Festival! I was loving this little Chihuahua riding on the back of the bike!
Everett meets a clown for the first time.

Everett and I waiting for the parade to start. We had to wait awhile, but we did what we do best......people watch!

Everett taking it all in. It was the best free entertainment for a toddler!

Guessing Game

Can you guess what is on Everett's face? It's sticky. It's fluffy. It's oh so good!
Have you guessed yet!?!

Marshmallow Creme!!! I like to introduce Everett to the simple pleasures in life, and for me, this is one of them. A rare and special treat. I think Everett has inherited Mommy's sweet tooth.

It's Official...He's A Genius

A Great Visit, A Great Birthday

My mom came last Thursday for a short visit. We had so much fun....shopping, eating, watching movies, and playing with Everett. She watched Everett on Saturday night so Eric and I could go out on a date for my birthday. We went to P.F Changs, then went and saw "Julie and Julia." The food was delicious and the movie was good as well. We don't get out all that much (just the two of us), so it is always a treat. After the movie we went out for Coldstone ice-cream (thanks Gigi!).

Today is my actual birthday, and since we had already kind of celebrated, we kept everything low-key. Eric made me a delicious breakfast of biscuits and gravy, eggs, and grits. A real Southern breakfast. After that, we just relaxed at home and played with Ev. Later this afternoon we went to the park and ran some errands. For dinner tonight, we just ate a smorgasbord of all my pregnancy cravings.....meatloaf, stuffing, and bruschetta Eric made me a chocolate cake.....yum! Overall, I had a great birthday because I spent it with my boys.
