Evening at the Arboretum

Eleanor on the Move

She's on the move baby!

And she is so happy about it!

For awhile now she has been working on getting her crawl down.

And yesterday she got it!

She has finally coordinated her arms and legs.

And now that she has her crawl perfected, she is everywhere!

And she is into everything!

I am so proud of her!

Happy Mornings

Now that summer time is officially here, we have been enjoying some outdoor time. We especially like the early mornings and have instituted a consistent morning walk. I load both boys in the double stroller and Eleanor in the Bjorn or Everett walks and the "babies" ride.

We have also enjoyed the parks, playgrounds, and the arboretum.

This guy tired out so much one morning that he just plopped down on the walking path we were on.

And we also enjoy outdoor time in our own yard and driveway.

We blow lots of bubbles.

And we play with sidewalk chalk.

She discovered her hands can get dirty.

We are loving the weather now that per misses us to enjoy early morning walks and outdoor play. The sun shining over the treetops, the chirping of the birds, and the cool morning air are the perfect combination. Looking forward to many more days ahead.

Eleanor at 9 Months

Our sweet Eleanor Jane. Oh what a delight you are. You brighten my day with your gummy grin and your beautiful big blue eyes. It does not take much to make you smile or laugh. You are happy most of your day and can be easily consoled if something upsets you.

You are on the brink of crawling. You scoot your little booty into the air and grunt rearing to go, but just haven't made that first move yet. You are still working on coordinating your arms and legs and are so motivated! Any day now you will be off. It will then be time to baby proof our home once again.

You like to sit and take it all in and are so easily entertained by your big brothers. They are so in love with you. You are definitely more trusting of Everett, but have warmed up to Hampton now as well. You just don't appreciate his big bear hugs and he tends to topple you over a bit too much. He just loves big.

You stop strangers with your beauty. Your big blue eyes are so captivating, but your personality is truly beautiful as well. You are a sweet soul.

At 9 months you now weigh 17 pounds 16 ounces and are in the 25th percentile for your weight. You are almost 29 inches long and are in the 75th percentile for your height. Your head circumference is in the 95th percentile! What can I say? We have big headed babies.
You are becoming more adventurous with eating. Last night Daddy fed you black beans and you loved them! Today you tried little bits of cheese. You do not care for fruit, but love most vegetables. You must not have a sweet tooth like your Mama!
You fit perfectly into our family. I can tell already that you will be running around with the boys when you're able. Your grin at them and then scoot your booty as if trying to go and join the fun.
Oh Eleanor Jane. This past 9 months have been nothing but pure joy and I am giddy in love with you.

Four

I am still in shock that Everett is now four. There are some things I want to remember about him at this age:

Everett is funny. He has a great sense of humor. He loves to make me laugh. He is witty and says some of the funniest things.
Everett is sensitive. He is passionate about life, but at the same time very emotional. He can cry in a instant and the next second be laughing and happy.
Everett can be very introverted. Social situations are not his favorite, but he usually warms up pretty quickly.
Everett is athletic. He takes on physical challenges and is very agile. He is a climber! And he shocks me how he can already run and kick a soccer ball.
Everett has a great palate. He is usually willing to try new foods and likes things from feta cheese to kalmata olives to salmon.
Everett has a fantastic memory. He remembers things that I even forget!
Everett has an ear for music.
Everett is an early riser. He gets up around 5 every morning, but still takes a 2-3 hour nap.
Everett is beautiful. From those big brown eyes, to his soft wavy hair....he melts me.
Everett has a wonderful heart. Although he can push his little brother around, he truly does care about others. He is constantly attune to others emotions and is concerned if someone is sad.

It was Everett who made us parents. He is such an amazing addition to our family and I look forward to this next year to watch him continue to grow and mature.

Zoo

On Saturday my mom and I took the boys to the Greenville Zoo. We left Eleanor at home with Eric. We had so much fun! It is a small zoo, but perfect for little ones.

I think the giraffes were Hampton's favorite, although his favorite animal are elephants.

Everett wore his new sunglasses the whole time.

Everett sliding. He wouldn't let go of his fruit!

Everett saying hi to the bronze bear.

We had fun! And there was a great playground right next to the zoo. After the playground we went to Mimi's Cafe for lunch before heading home for naps!

Birthday Week

I am still in shock that we have a four year old! Everett's birthday was last Wednesday and we had such a great week! Eric's mom came to visit on Tuesday and Wednesday and then my mom came on Thursday. Lots of company and lots of love.

Everett opening a gift from Gigi

On Wednesday morning Eric and I took Everett to IHOP (his favorite) for breakfast. He loves pancakes!

I talked about birthdays all week. Here are the boys coloring a picture of a birthday cake.

On Wednesday evening I made Everett his favorite meal-meatloaf, served with sweet potato fries.

And then we had chocolate cupcakes for dessert!

After dinner, Everett opened up some birthday gifts. He got a lot of fun new toys.

Poor Eleanor wasn't feeling well that day. She tried to have a good time, but was exhausted.

Everett had a great birthday this year. He kept telling me what a fun time he was having. I am so blessed to be his mama!
