A Very Seussical Day

Tomorrow is Dr. Seuss' birthday and today we had a very Seussical day!

"The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go."
Dr. Seuss

I displayed all our Dr.Seuss books and we read almost every one throughout the day. The boys' favorite is definitely I Wish I Had Duck Feet.

We then made these super cute "things." I think the boys had the most fun when it was their turn to paint my hand. Everett is Thing 1, Hampton is Thing 2, and Eleanor is Baby Thing.

We then played this Dr.Seuss matching game. Everett is so good at memory! He beats me nearly every time.

For snack this morning we had colored Goldfish crackers and read One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. The children had fun "fishing" out of the goldfish bowl for their crackers.

And it was a challenge keeping Sassy entertained while we were doing all our Dr.Seuss activities!

We then colored Cat in the Hat hats.

For lunch we had none other than.....Green eggs and ham! I used spinach and kale to naturally color the eggs green and it was surprisingly delicious! I also used the spinach and kale to make their fruit smoothies green as well. While they ate I read the book to accompany the theme of the meal.

After lunch we made these cute pictures.

And Everett and I worked on the "at" word family. I am so proud of him that he can read all these words with little to no help!

During rest time the boys watched The Cat in the Hat. I also showed them parts of Seussical the Musical and we continued to read all our Dr. Seuss books.
We had a very Seussical day indeed!
