Once Upon A Time......

Today was National Fairy Tale Day! I love celebrating quirky holidays and today was so fun. We began the day by reading some of our favorite fairy tales including Cinderella and Golidlocks and the Three Bears.

Then the boys watched a couple ebooks on the iPad including: Cinderella, The Three Little Pigs, and Goldilocks. I then had them color some coloring pages that corresponded with each story.

We then each took turns building houses with blocks (just like the 3 little pigs).......

and then blowing the house down!!!! They LOVED this game.

We also made paper crowns

Watched Super Why (which is completely literature based).

And made stick puppets. The boys loved putting on a puppet show. I had to demonstrate the concept first though, but they got the hang of it.

We had a magical day and.....lived happily ever after!

Sibling Love and Letter Day

Since we are kind of house bound with a new baby and the fact it's really cold out, I have had to be creative to keep everyone happy and entertained for hours on end everyday.
So we've enjoyed doing arts and crafts.....

And some brotherly love.....

And yesterday we had "letter day." We wrote a letter to our Compassion International child, letters to our family, read book about our letters......

This is the boys' favorite

And then we played traced letters in shaving cream!

It started off well......

And then got messy.

Really messy!

So we cleaned up and the boys watched A Veggie Tales movie.

While this sweet one and I cuddled near by.

The Bewitching Hour

All mamas know what it is-the bewitching hour. It tends to begin around 4pm when you and all the children are just done! It's creeping near dinner and when daddy comes home. I was feeling like between 4 and 5 I just couldn't survive, until I discovered just to bundle them up and let them run off their energy in the back yard. I watch from out the window at our office desk and it gives me a little break too. We know have a survival plan for those long days!

Yup. That's a (now dead) bug he speared with a stick. Ahhh boys.

Happy President's Day!

This and That

We are continuing to fall deeper in love with our Thatcher boy. This morning he looked so sweet on his changing table. The moment I grabbed my camera he started doing this......

The children's Gigi was here for a couple of days visiting, so this morning my Sassy and I got to go grocery shopping together just the two of us. I brought her upstairs while I got ready. She loves to play with my make-up brush.

And just stand by and look pretty.

Tonight we were putting the boys to bed and Everett wanted to hold Thatcher. Hampton soon got in on  the snuggles......

Our THREE boys!!!

A Sweet Valentine's Day

I threw the children a little Valentine's Day Party this morning. I have been building this party up all week and they were so excited. It truly is the little things.....

Like pink balloons and heart shaped confetti.

And home made Valentines cards made by mommy.

And chocolate covered pretzels.

Valentine's Day puppy chow.

And a sweet little newborn sleeping nearby.

Chocolate covered faces.

And pink lemonade with heart papered straws.

Sweet, juicy watermelon.

And a "make your own Valentine" project.

Lots of sibling love.

And mommy love!
