Sweet Days

I love days at home. Nothing on the agenda. Just time well spent with my babes. We miss Ev, but know he is having a great time learning and playing at kindergarten. Just the other day, Everett's water bottle was still left out from breakfast and Hampton looked at it and sighed "I miss Everett." So sweet.

The other day I told Hampton we were going to go on a walk. He threw on his Crocs and said "I'm ready!" I told him he can't go outside without pants and he said, "Oh but I don't really care." Ha.
Caught Hampton in a nose pick.
And Thatcher is a happy baby 99.9% of the day. Most content baby ever!
 A classic Hampton grin.
 And Ellie loves to twirl.
She's always been pretty girly. But now she has become very girly! She loves princesses (Ariel is her favorite), loves to wear dresses and bows, and has recently been toting around her purse everywhere.
 While this boy walks everywhere.
So Monday morning we had a donut driveway party. And it was great. I ate way too many munchkins.

Eleanor "helping" me bake oatmeal bread.
And finally, Hampton's creation. I think his inspiration was the Magic Kingdom.

Sunday

Sunday was a beautiful Spring day. We dressed the children in their Sunday best and had a good morning at church. The children have been so good about going to Sunday School. Even baby Thatcher doesn't cry! He has really attached himself to one of the volunteers in his class (a super sweet high school student) and I truly think he remembers her. And Hampton has moved over to the "big kid" section of the church as well.
After church we decided to eat lunch out on the deck. This was our first time eating outside since the beginning of the season. It was wonderful.

Sweet Thatcher in his little bunny outfit.

 Her sassy face.

 Sweet little teethers.

A good brother helps his sister with her bow.

 Notice the food swiper?

And he comes running when he sees pizza. He LOVES it!
After rest time we went out into the driveway and helped Everett wash his sea shells.
It was a perfect Sunday! Looking forward to many more this Spring/Summer.

Easter

The big boys are finally at an age of truly understanding the meaning of Easter. With help from The Jesus Storybook Bible and a few other resources, Eric and I have been able to explain (in 4/5 year old terms) a bit about salvation. Here are some things I want to remember from conversations with the boys:
Hampton-"Jesus rode on a donkey"
Everett-"Jesus died on the cross for the bad things we do"
Hampton-"Jesus is God's son and heaven's angel" Ha!
Everett-"Jesus is ALIVE!"
Mommy-"What is Easter all about?"
Hampton-"Bunnies and eggs?"
Everett-"No! It's about Jesus!"
This is just a glimpse of all the mini conversations we have with them. I pray that one day all our children will come to know Him. I am so thankful that even at such a young age there can be such understanding!
We had a lovely Easter. A couple days ago we each took turns hiding eggs in the front yard. Then today the children got their Easter baskets. Some candy, a few games, Sofia the First toys for Ellie, stencils for Everett, puzzles, and coloring books. They were very well received!
We had a great morning at church. Everett and Hampton actually got to go to the same worship class. They were very excited about that. We had a laid back afternoon and then after naps went to the arboretum. We went on a nature trail and discovered a creek and a fun bridge. For Easter dinner tonight we had turkey meatloaf, peas, and oatmeal bread. And we had popcorn balls for dessert. They were yum! Overall we had a very celebratory day!

Easter Crafting

Any time I can craft with my big boys, I am up for it. They love it. I love it. And we have cute things to show for it. I went on Pinterest last week and pinned a few fun Easter/Spring crafts. We made an afternoon of it and had a great time!

Our bunny car.
This was just as much fun to make as it was to eat!

 Bunny clay necklaces.
 Painting.
Everett's bunny necklace.

I thought their egg-shaped bunnies were so cute! Everett's is on the left. Hampton's is on the right.

Hampton's bunny necklace. With glasses, of course.
