Ducks!

Farm Day

Yesterday was a busy, but fun day. In the morning we went to Huber Farm in Indiana. Everett spent most of the time just running around. We then shopped at the farmer's market and had lunch at the cafe. Everett seemed to have a great time and I thought for sure he would fall asleep in the car, but he was a ball of energy! After nap time, we then decided to make a yummy dinner of chicken/herb tortellini and olive salad crostinis. After dinner we then went to "duck park" and watched others feed the ducks. There were at least 100 of them! Everett was definitely not afraid and I caught him saying "duck" several times. If we wanted to teach him to say that word, that was the way to do it! Finally, we ended the day the way every day should end- dessert. Pumpkin cheesecake-a little Fall preview.

A Few Fall Crafts

Tonight I decided to work on a few Fall projects. I have been wanting a simple toddler book bag as a replacement for Everett's diaper bag. I ran across this one at Hobby Lobby and decided to personalize it. Much simpler than the big bulky diaper bag we have been hauling around! It has been awhile since I have made Everett some shirts, so I decided to make them Fall-themed. The last picture is an applique I want to put on a shirt for Thanksgiving. I am not sure what size Ev will be exactly when it comes that time, so I decided to wait on that one. Hopefully, more to come!

Fun with the Nasal Aspirator

A Fun Weekend

We had a great weekend. Saturday we did some cleaning, but then Everett and I went out shopping. I found him some great shoes for Fall/Winter. Saturday evening we had friends over for dinner. They have two little girls, one Ev's age and a 3 year old. It was fun to see Everett interact with other kids on his "turf." He did great. Sunday we went to church, where Everett made it through the nursery. He is still not playing with the other kids (he just wants to be held) but he is not crying as much....so we are making progress. Sunday afternoon Eric and Ev slept for a few hours....I was so bored! I love having some "me" time, but after about an hour I didn't know what to do with myself! I wanted my boys to wake up and play! After naps, we went and picked up sandwiches and went to a new park. It was cool outside, so we weren't miserable. That evening after Everett went to bed, Eric and I watched "A Time to Kill" which I had never seen. I really enjoyed it. Overall, a weekend of time with the family....which is a perfect weekend in my book :)

Just Because

I had to post these pictures of Everett tonight, just because he is so cute!!! The shirt he is wearing is the same one I used to wear as a toddler.

Everett At Play

Last night I read our blog from start to finish. It was really fun to look back and read from the beginning up until now. I especially loved watching the videos and since it has been awhile since I have posted one, I thought I would tonight. Here is Everett dragging the toy horse that his Gigi got him. Play is what Everett does best, and it is really fun to watch.

Hello

Okay, this is kind of a silly post I will admit.....but I found this so funny. The other day we bought this steam cleaner (which, by the way I love and could not believe how dirty our carpet was, even with vacuuming every week!). Anyways, we were in the midst of cleaning and had it sitting in the hallway. Everett had just woke up from a nap and had not seen it yet. He is aware of our vacuum and usually that doesn't scare him. So he walked out of his room and stopped right in front of the cleaner. With the cutest voice he looked at it and said, "hello." I just died laughing! First of all, I have never heard him say "hello" before, and second of all, what a polite boy! He is even kind to inanimate objects! This is yet another really fun stage.

More Adventures of a Boy in a Basket

We found out Saturday night that Everett does not discriminate between which basket he will sit in. We went to our friends house Saturday night for dinner. They have three little ones themselves, which meant lots of new toys for Everett to play with. His favorite was this basket though. He is such a ham! By the way, he did have a very cute outfit on, however I changed him into jammies because I knew he would fall asleep on the ride home (which he did!)

A Nashville Getaway

This past weekend we went to Nashville. Everett's Gigi met us there. Our goal was a few days of rest and for Eric and I to spend some quality time alone with one another. We had a great time! Eric and I went on several fun dates and Gigi and Everett had a few "dates" of their own. It was fun hearing about what Everett did while we were gone. For instance, Gigi said at one night Everett hide behind a chair to poop. I thought that was so funny that he was actually embarrassed. Everett also said "Gigi" for the first time, signed "more" pretty consistently, pointed to trees upon demand, said the word "up" and played "pat-a-cake" and "itsy bitsy spider." We are so proud of him! Here are a few pictures of the weekend......

Everett at the Gaylord Opryland Resort. This was such an amazing place! A waterfall at the resort. The whole place was one huge greenhouse!
