Yesterday

Yesterday was a whole lot of nothing....but I am convinced all this "nothing" for these little people in my life really adds up to a whole lot of something-now and for their future.

Eleanor tried rice cereal for the first time and proved she is a girl with her dramatic reaction. She gagged and gave me a funny look.

Everett went to preschool. It was show and tell day and he brought Buzz Lightyear.

While Everett was at preschool Hampton was hard at work playing. Eleanor takes a long morning nap, so this is quality time with him. This boy plays like it is his job. He loves to play! His favorites are cars.

Grover decided to take a driving tour of the farm. And Buzz Lightyear happened to be there too. We have fun.

Everett refused another nap. I am still working through this issue. I have come to terms with him not sleeping. I have not come to terms with myself not getting a break in the day. Thus, I have instituted "room time." He can read, play with a few toys....but he must stay in his room. It is still a battle, but we are only two days in. I am hopeful. And the playing commenced in the afternoon......

Why hi there baby...........

I'll give you a kiss!

Maggie is a very predictable dog. She sleeps in the morning and observes in the afternoon.

More play.....

And a brother hug enforced by mommy.

Eleanor and I decided to do a photoshoot......

And we ended the day freshly bathed, in jammies, in mommy and daddy's bed- with Hampton as Everett's personal foot rest.

And I wanted to end with a sibling kiss! Melt my heart.
The day can be long. And my patience can be worn thin. I worry myself over the children. Are they healthy? Are they happy? This list can go on and on. But even though it can take a toll on me physically, mentally, and emotionally-it is good work.

Family Day

Today was fun. We started off the day with orange rolls. The day has to be good if it starts off with orange rolls. And it was. Everett and I decided to venture out just the two of us to Mountain Play Lodge. This is just down the road from us and is a huge indoor playground full of inflatables, things to climb on, a castle, and a cute little play town. He loved it! He was so brave and went on all the inflatables.

Afterwards we picked up Chick Fil A for lunch. After lunch it was nap time. Or.....it was supposed to be nap time. We are dealing with some major issues with Everett refusing to nap. He is a very strong-willed little boy who is willing to go to great lengths to let us know he WILL NOT take a nap. Finally after an hour and a half battle he finally gave in and passed out. We are working on a new nap plan.
After naps we head back to Mountain Play Lodge to introduce Hampton to the fun. He loved it too! He never stop babbling the whole time. He trotted around like he owned the place. I think it officially wore the boys out.
When we got home we had supper and then did baths. The boys are now soundly asleep in their room. I look forward to visiting the play lodge during the cold winter months (which we haven't quite experienced yet).

I love how the boys' age is starting to feel closer and closer. They are starting to "play" with one another and it is fun. Funny to think that in a year or so we will have 3 littles running around.

Pajama Play Date

Yesterday morning it was cold so we decided to call our friends up for a pajama play date. These winter months worry me because we can easily get stir crazy staying at home all the time. However with friends it definitely passes the time and makes it more bearable! We were cozy in our jammies and the time was well spent!

Eleanor At Four Months

Our sweet Eleanor Jane is 4 months! There are many things I want to remember about our gal at this age:

-She weighs 13 pounds and is in the 25th percentile for weight. She is much smaller than the boys were. The boys were always in the 75th percentile for weight.
-She is 27/28 inches long and in the 75th percentile for height.
-She is in the 75th percentile for head circumference.
-Eleanor is developing wonderfully. She is a little behind on gross motor skills. We need to work more on some tummy time for head control. She is rolling over now. We also just brought out the exersaucer which she loves.
-Eleanor sleeps about 11-12 hours a night. She takes one2 hour nap in the morning and one two hour nap in the afternoon. She wins the award for the best sleeper!
-Eleanor eats every 3 hours still and we have not started solids yet.
-What I want to remember most is how sweet Eleanor is. She is always smiling. She is the most content and happy baby I have ever met. In fact, the only time she fusses is when she is ready to eat or is ready to nap. The pediatrician said perhaps because she is so well rested! We love our sweet girl.

Four Months

I thought it would be fun to compare all 3 babies at 4 months. I think Everett and Eleanor really favor one another and Hampy has a look all his own.

The Past Few Days

The past few days have been nice. We are settling down from all the Christmas festivities and have enjoyed our days spent at home.

This boy's hair is wild. By this age Everett had at least 2 haircuts, however we have not cut Hampton's hair yet. I am sure the day is coming soon, but for now it is just a crazy mess.

The boys have also enjoyed playing with their new toys from Christmas. The fire truck in the background is at least fought over twice a day.
Everett in the box Everett in the box oh so still.....won't you come out!?!
Yes I will!

Yesterday while Eleanor was having some tummy time Hampton ran over and offered her the Chick Fil A cow. I guess he thought she was lonely.

Lunching with friends.

Mmmmm.....peanut butter and jelly muffins (with carrot puree in the recipe...you know to make it nutritious!)
And yesterday I simmered white chicken chili all day long in my new, much larger Crockpot. So yummy!

Yesterday afternoon Everett decided not to nap which left more playtime, just the two of us. We learned about the concepts of "same" and "different" via a game of Memory. His attention span is still pretty short, so it didn't last long but we'll keep trying.

And this morning was all about castle building. More specifically we constructed a castle for Buzz Lightyear. Unfortunately Hurricane Hampton came and destroyed. Poor castle. It lasted a good 2 minutes.

I wasn't feeling all that great today so we declared it a jammie day. An all day jammie day.

We also ate lunch while watching Toy Story. The boys are very much into Toy Story right now.

And it was definitely a fireside play kind of day.

Everett skipped nap again today and was definitely ready to snuggle Eleanor when she awoke from her nap this afternoon.
I am a bit obsessed with baby feet.
I love their relationship. She lights up when he talks to her and he kisses her often. Very sweet.
