Somewhere along the line Eric and I started referring to Eleanor and Hampton as the "twins." I guess it has something to do with how close they are in age. But that is how the children are named in our family......there is Everett and the twins!
I really enjoy my Tuesday and Thursday mornings with the "twins" while Everett is at preschool.
Eleanor is all dressed and ready to go. I am excited that now I can put her in all the cute dresses I bought for her for Spring/Summer.
Everett right before we left this morning for preschool. He is still so apprehensive about going, but always reports he had fun afterward. He also likes discovering what I have packed in his lunchbox that day. Today it was Greek yogurt, a banana, and whole-wheat baked donuts.
So after I dropped Everett off today, I needed a few things from Target. The "twins" seemed in decent moods, and any errand with 2 is so much simpler than the 3, so off we went.
Now it is very out of character for Hampton to throw fits. He rarely tantrums, but when he does.....watch out.
I had just gathered our items at Target and was about to check-out when he threw the fit of his lifetime. Eleanor was in the Baby Bjourn and he was in the cart and wanted out. I knew it was going to be difficult to corral him, so I told him no.
He lost it! I mean-lost it. He screamed, kept trying to climb out, was throwing things out of our cart. Lost it. I have never had to leave a cart full of things before in a store, but I did. I was so embarrassed and even though I know most people weren't judging me, I still felt their eyes on me. Probably with pity. It was a pitiful sight. I do believe he was embarrassed too as I was strapping him in his car seat. He kept giving me kisses and when I looked him in the eyes, he would cover his face with both of his hands. Poor thing. We all deserve a decent meltdown every now and again.
And sassy has been really off her schedule. She was up and down all night and skipped her morning nap. A dirty diaper was the culprit for this morning and a hungry tummy was what caused her to keep getting up throughout the night. Maybe a growth spurt?
Despite our "off" morning, memories were made and time was spent together. Not too bad.
