Funny Photo Shoot

Awhile ago, the children had some extra energy to burn after dinner. So, it turned into a funny, silly photo shoot......

Eleanor Jane at 3 (Almost 4)

Oh my Eleanor Jane. You are.......
Beautiful
And sweet.
Girly, but tough!
Thoughtful and kind.
And oh so silly. And quirky.
Very quirky.
You love all things girly.
And love to sing and dance. You certainly make your voice known in our home!
And you are a joy to mother. You are my one and only daughter, my sweet girl.

Bed Babies

Oh my. Is there anything sweeter than freshly bathed and jammied babies in the evening? Here are the four watching a Little Bear right before bed. Sweet memories I never want to forget.

Last Day of First Grade

Everett has had a wonderful first grade year! He has learned so much and has been such a diligent worker. When we started our homeschool journey back in November, I had already recognized a few areas he needed to develop this year. For example, his math skills. Math stressed him out (I can relate!) however by the end of first grade, math has become his favorite subject! Writing and reading comprehension were other weak spots, but he has now progressed wonderfully. We learned many fun and interesting things and read excellent pieces of literature. I am so proud of my soon to be second grader!
 Thatcher Reid agrees.........

Makeshift Sisters

Since Eleanor is surrounded by her brothers, sometimes a girl has to go to extreme measures to pursue her girly passions. Like having a tea party. Eleanor convinced Hampton and Thatcher Reid to have a tea party with her. They obliged and Hampton even went as far as to put on her Anna dress. Oh my.

Everett Turns 7!

So, our big boy turned 7. How is this possible? Wasn't I just writing about how he learned to roll over. And crawl? And that he took his first steps. Watching your children grow is so very bitter sweet. There is this surge of joy. That they have grown closer to independence. They have learned new skills and matured. Every day is a step closer to the person they are becoming. However, there is also this surge of sadness. They need you less. The days of babyhood are becoming more faded.
I'll never forget the moment when I was in our apartment in Louisville, rocking my sweet baby Everett. He was just days old and I remember looking down at him wondering what kind of boy he would turn out to be. Well, I could not be happier that God has given me this boy. Everett is funny, witty, passionate, curious, determined, intelligent, and can be so sweet. He is very artistic and I think that just might be his "thing." A day does not go by where he doesn't grab a piece of construction paper and a pencil and sketch something. And it is 90% of the time Star Wars related. Which leads me to his family birthday party. This year's theme was Star Wars.
And the majority of his gifts were Star Wars related.

Oh my. A chocolate cake with 7 birthday candles!

And littlest brother certainly loves cake.
 This one too.
Happy Birthday Everett Grey!
