Picnic at Biltmore

Yesterday we went to the Biltmore Estate's Antler Hill for a picnic. We met our friends Sally Ann and David there as well. They have a petting farm, which Everett was apprehensive to at first, but did warm up. Here we are with Bert the horse. Everett saying hi the chickens.

Hampton and I with Bert. He kept kicking the stall door and it made Hampton jump each time.

Everett petting the goat Moe.

Picnic! It was such a beautiful day-the perfect weather. We ended our activity there with ice-cream!

First Dentist Trip

This morning I took Everett to his very first dentist visit. My fantastic friend Sally Ann watched Hampton so that I could be there 100% for Ev-I figured he may feel nervous. Here he is waiting to go in. We went to a pediatric dentist and the whole office had a rain forest theme.

Here he is showing the dental assistant how he can brush his teeth.

I need to buy a step stool for his bathroom because he loved watching himself brush his teeth.

He wore sunglasses to protect his eyes from the light. He said, "this so silly!"

Overall he did so great! He did everything that was asked of him. He has no cavities or signs of cavities. He has a bit of crowding in the front-which the dentist warned me may mean he'll need braces one day. Yay! Just another fun part of growing up. We celebrated him being such a big boy by stopping at Chick-fil-A and getting a fresh fruit cup. No sweets! We want to keep up those teeth. Ha!

Just Because He's So Cute!

These pictures were taken right before I took Everett to preschool this morning. I am usually the first mommy there at pick up because I am chomping at the bit to get him back. Preschool is so good for him, but I miss him when he's gone-even if it is only 3 hours!

Target and Eye Appointments

Today we had a busy day. We went to Target (Starbucks Cafe) for breakfast. The boys had a blueberry muffin and I think it lasted about 30 seconds. The inhaled it! We walked around the store afterward and then Everett threw a huge tantrum when we left. He was upset that he didn't get to pick out a toy from the dollar spot. I tried my best in 2-3 year old language to explain that that was a special treat and shouldn't be just expected. I am not convinced it translated, but we'll keep trying.

We then headed to Hendersonville for Hampton's eye appointment. We were there for two hours! The doctor and I discussed other options for treating Hampton's hemangioma. There are basically two options, both that come with possible risk/side effects. Another option is to just wait it out. Fortunately it is not yet affecting his eye sight and he doesn't favor one eye over another, so we are still praying about what to do. It does bother me how it looks, but he is still such a beautiful baby and has such pretty blue eyes.

He kept trying to escape!

The receptionist at the eye doctor, Miss Maria is so sweet. Today was her birthday and she gave each child a cupcake. Everett had his after nap today.

Easter

Our celebration of Christ's resurrection consisted of many great things this year.....

Not the best quality, but a rare shot of my big boy smiling at the camera
Opening Easter baskets

His favorite thing in his basket was his lip balm. He carries it around and calls it: my lips

Trying our best to get a good family shot

Hampton is not having it

The boys and their Gigi

After we went to church, we went out for brunch-which was delicious and the boys were so good! Another attempt at a good photo.

That is Everett's toy Gumby in his hand

I enjoyed a few moments of relaxation in the back yard. 80 degrees and sunny today.

After nap Easter egg hunt in our own back yard

Maggie enjoying the outdoors as well

A typical Hampton expression. I seen this one a lot.

And this one........

Happy Easter!!!

Easter Egg Huntin'

This morning we took Everett to his very first Easter egg hunt. Gigi is in town again this weekend and we started off the morning with a big breakfast at Cracker Barrel. There were tons of people at the park today for the hunt.

Everett was so excited to go get those eggs!

Here is Hampton representing Suntrust Bank

And sporting Gigi's shades

I will say it was a bit anticlimactic, but Ev had fun. From the time the man blew the horn until the time the field was wiped clean of eggs, was about 30 seconds. Everett ran here and there collecting eggs and got about 5.

Later in the day we enjoyed playing in the back yard. Everett just got a new play set. He loves it....and today Hampton had his turn on it.

Everett has always been a bit afraid of slides, but he'll go down this one

He is also enjoying his new sandbox and follows the "sandbox rules" pretty well

Looking forward to celebrating Resurrection Day tomorrow!
