Cabin in the Woods

Last week I, along with my mom, Everett, Hampton, my sister, a my sister's boyfriend went to Gatlinburg, TN for a little getaway. We rented the same cabin that Eric, his mom, and Everett and I went to when Everett was only 3 months old.

The first night we were there we went to a restaurant called Calhouns. Everett really took to Jed.

We went out to a lot of restaurants and the boys did so well! We don't really ever take them out to eat, but now I think we are ready to venture out again.

The next day my mom and I took the boys to the aquarium. It was really nice and they had fun.

This is as close to a bear that we got.

The following day we went out to eat again at another restaurant and then drove to a place called Cade's Cove. It took awhile to get there on a long, winding mountain road.....but it was worth it. We took a driving tour and saw a ton of deer and some turkeys. No bears though.

We also did a little shopping out an outdoor village. Actually, most of the stores were closed. I did find a very cute diaper bag though and had it monogrammed.

Hampton pulling my hair.....again.

On the way back from Cades Cove we stopped and took some pictures in front of a waterfall.

Overall it was a fun trip. I was so pleased that the boys slept together in the same room (their first time) and did so well. I actually think their little noises comforted each other. That definitely gives me hope for the future when they share a room. I am exhausted, but it was fun.

Hampton Cole

Hampton you are one! Here are some things I want to remember about you at this moment in time.......

You are super cuddly and affectionate. You love to snuggle and can be very laid back.
You like to play "peek-a-boo"
You have a great appetite. You make a "mmm" sound when we aren't feeding you fast enough.
You have started making this silly face every time we take your picture.

You are crawling great now and are into everything! You somehow know exactly what you shouldn't be getting into and go right to that.
You love to laugh and smile. I think you already have a great sense of humor.
You are sleeping great. You take an hour and half nap in the morning and then a two and a half hour nap in the afternoon.
You are starting to really have separation anxiety.

You love to watch your Everett. Although sometimes it seems he "annoys" you and you squawk at him.
You are 24 pounds and wear 12-18 month clothing.
You love bath time!
You wave your arms every time you hear music, almost as though you are dancing.
You still are taking medicine for the hemangioma on your eye, but soon we will be weaning you have that. So far it isn't affecting your eyesight, so that is such a blessing!
You are going to be a big brother!

Hampton, you are such a joy. What an amazing addition to our family!

1-Year Party

Hampton's 1-year birthday party was today. It is 9:30 pm and I am exhausted, but it was such a fun day! Our "theme" for the party was really centered around the food-spaghetti and meatballs. I will say part of the food selection was based on my pregnancy cravings, however Hampton is a little meatball so it worked.

I was thankful for our stock pot today because we were making a meal for 12 people.

I made the meatballs and I think they turned out pretty well!

Zeke was one of our guests......

and Daniel.
Hampton eating his lunch. He didn't nap well this morning, but still was in a good mood.

Hampton and Yvonne our babysitter. They love Yvonne.

Hampton loved his cupcake. We had carrot cake cupcakes.

Aunt Mary and Everett, who also enjoyed the cupcakes.

Everett had a ball with all the people. He took right to Jed, Mary's boyfriend and kept asking him to chase him around the house. He was also so happy to see his Gigi, Uncle Jason, and Aunt Becky. His Nonny is also here visiting and he had a fun time shopping with her before the party. He loves to shop!

We had such a great day. As I write this I think back to one year ago. At exactly midnight my water broke and only a few short hours later our Hampton was born. He is such a joy and I have loved this year with him.

12 Weeks

I'm 12 weeks! I had an appointment today and so far Baby #3 is doing great! My naseau/vomitting/migraines are dying down so I am doing much better as well. When the doctor was using the doppler to find the heartbeat she commented on how he/she was moving all around. The heartbeat was 160. Even despite all the sickness, I am really enjoying this pregnancy. Only 6 more weeks until our ultrasound!

Playing Together

Who would have ever thought that an almost 1-year old and an almost 3-year old could get into so much? Whether it is Everett scolding Hampton for touching "his" stuff, or Hampton squawking at Everett for being too close and "annoying" him, it is really funny. But, for the most part they really love each other. I don't have a picture of it, although it will be forever burned in my memory, of the babies rolling around on the floor together and wrestling. And yesterday I overheard Everett giving Hampton a kiss and whispering "I love you so much Hampton!" Oh my heart might explode. I also love how much Everett can make Hampton burst out in laughter. I continue to pray that these two will be forever pals.

Where's the Ball?

Weekend

This past weekend was full of the usual busyness and fun. On Saturday morning we went out for breakfast at Dunkin Donuts. They were so good and it was fun. Then the boys' Gigi came to visit. While they were playing at the house I went to a huge consignment sale at the agricultural center. It took me about 15 minutes to shop and I stood in line for over an hour! I did have some good conversation waiting in line though. While I was gone Everett was playing outside, fell and hit his head on our wooden fence. He seemed alright at the time, but Sunday night he was acting funny and saying he was seeing "bubbles?" He also would not sleep! We called the nurse on call and she suggested we take him to get a neurological exam. So Eric and Ev headed to the ER at 9. Thankfully he checked out alright, even though they had to wait a really long time. The Lord really spared him and we are so thankful. Okay-back to the rest of the weekend.....Saturday night Eric and I went out to a Pomodoras, a restaurant we have been wanting to try since we moved here. It was Italian/Greek food and so good! We went all out with appetizers, entrees, dessert, and Eric got a cappuccino afterward. Sunday I did some grocery shopping and we had Boston Market for lunch. Aside from Ev's boo-boo a really great and very busy weekend!

Gigi and Ev playing golf.

Hampton getting into the bookcase. We are now having to tell him "no touch" for several things.

Like the fire screen. You can see my reprimanding finger!

He tries to persuade me with his overwhelming cuteness........
