Just Because He's So Cute!

These pictures were taken right before I took Everett to preschool this morning. I am usually the first mommy there at pick up because I am chomping at the bit to get him back. Preschool is so good for him, but I miss him when he's gone-even if it is only 3 hours!

Target and Eye Appointments

Today we had a busy day. We went to Target (Starbucks Cafe) for breakfast. The boys had a blueberry muffin and I think it lasted about 30 seconds. The inhaled it! We walked around the store afterward and then Everett threw a huge tantrum when we left. He was upset that he didn't get to pick out a toy from the dollar spot. I tried my best in 2-3 year old language to explain that that was a special treat and shouldn't be just expected. I am not convinced it translated, but we'll keep trying.

We then headed to Hendersonville for Hampton's eye appointment. We were there for two hours! The doctor and I discussed other options for treating Hampton's hemangioma. There are basically two options, both that come with possible risk/side effects. Another option is to just wait it out. Fortunately it is not yet affecting his eye sight and he doesn't favor one eye over another, so we are still praying about what to do. It does bother me how it looks, but he is still such a beautiful baby and has such pretty blue eyes.

He kept trying to escape!

The receptionist at the eye doctor, Miss Maria is so sweet. Today was her birthday and she gave each child a cupcake. Everett had his after nap today.

Easter

Our celebration of Christ's resurrection consisted of many great things this year.....

Not the best quality, but a rare shot of my big boy smiling at the camera
Opening Easter baskets

His favorite thing in his basket was his lip balm. He carries it around and calls it: my lips

Trying our best to get a good family shot

Hampton is not having it

The boys and their Gigi

After we went to church, we went out for brunch-which was delicious and the boys were so good! Another attempt at a good photo.

That is Everett's toy Gumby in his hand

I enjoyed a few moments of relaxation in the back yard. 80 degrees and sunny today.

After nap Easter egg hunt in our own back yard

Maggie enjoying the outdoors as well

A typical Hampton expression. I seen this one a lot.

And this one........

Happy Easter!!!

Easter Egg Huntin'

This morning we took Everett to his very first Easter egg hunt. Gigi is in town again this weekend and we started off the morning with a big breakfast at Cracker Barrel. There were tons of people at the park today for the hunt.

Everett was so excited to go get those eggs!

Here is Hampton representing Suntrust Bank

And sporting Gigi's shades

I will say it was a bit anticlimactic, but Ev had fun. From the time the man blew the horn until the time the field was wiped clean of eggs, was about 30 seconds. Everett ran here and there collecting eggs and got about 5.

Later in the day we enjoyed playing in the back yard. Everett just got a new play set. He loves it....and today Hampton had his turn on it.

Everett has always been a bit afraid of slides, but he'll go down this one

He is also enjoying his new sandbox and follows the "sandbox rules" pretty well

Looking forward to celebrating Resurrection Day tomorrow!

Bored

This morning I was in the kitchen getting diaper bags packed and ready for MOPS and I heard Everett whining. I went in the dining room to find that he had locked himself in our pantry. I let him out and then went back to business. About a minute later I heard, "this is fun!" I went back into the dining room to find both boys playing in Rice Krispies. Obviously I just had to laugh. Since the day Everett was born Eric and I joke what it must feel like to be bored again. Our lives are so busy raising these little ones, but it is so fulfilling......and funny.

Target, Ducks, and Eggs

The title pretty much sums up our day. This morning (which started very early at 6) the boys and I went out to Target. Everett had gotten some Easter money (3 dollars to be exact) so I put it in his wallet and off to Target we went. His first purchase was a juice box. He insisted on sitting at the table in the cafe to enjoy it (while Hampton and I watched!)

When we were leaving the store a woman stopped and compliment the boys on how beautiful they were. Everett just eats up this kind of attention and exclaimed, "And we're having a sister!"
I continue to tell him that she is going to be a ballerina, and this thrills him to no end. He's got a thing for adoring ballerinas every since we introduced him to The Nutcracker last Christmas.

After nap, we went to the Sara Lee bakery outlet and picked up some "duck food" which is really just a loaf of marked down bread. We then headed to Lake Julian with the intent of feeding the ducks.

Unfortunately the ducks must have had their share of bread today because they weren't all that interested. Everett didn't mind. Especially when he spotted the playground.

Hampton will have his time on the playground once he decides it is time to walk. For now, he just enjoys being on Mama's hip.

We then walked around the docks and watched people fish. Everett really seemed to enjoy that. After dinner (I made home made Sloppy Joes and we had melon with it) we dyed some eggs.

This was really fun. It is hard to not stress out about the mess, but I think we did pretty well.

This is what Hampton did to entertain himself while we were dyeing the eggs- played with the wax paper.

The finished product! We are planning on hiding them in our back yard this weekend for an Easter egg hunt.

Something to Celebrate

One thing is for sure: this family loves to have something to celebrate! This past weekend the boys' Gigi came for a visit and we were all about celebrating finding out about a healthy baby girl.

Everett and Gigi had fun playing outside with the sidewalk chalk.

On Saturday night we went out to eat at Carabbas. I won't say it was a disaster (Hampton wasn't feeling all that well), but it definitely wasn't a relaxed dining experience. At least we had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day.

Gail also brought along goodies of Easter treats and plenty of pink for Eleanor. I am really starting to build up her closet (and I did get those pink hangers). We are really looking forward to this Easter weekend and the biggest celebration of all!
