I was feeling crafty again today, so Everett and I headed to Hobby Lobby. I had two projects in mind. One of the projects was to make another onesie for Everett. I found these cute ladybugs, so I went from there. Needless to say, Eric definitely protested about this onesie calling it "borderline girly." My argument was that Ev is still a baby and it is a "gray area." What do you think? My next project was to "jazz up" the clipboard I use everyday for work. I saw these really cute handmade clipboards on Etsy, so I decided to give it a try. I used sealant and scrapbooking paper. Other than a few moments of frustration, I must say that I am overall pleased with the end result. As I was browsing through Hobby Lobby this morning I found a few more projects I want to do, but I will save those for another day!

The "How To"
Woops. In my post about Everett's shirts and onesies I forgot to explain how I created them. For the letters and the patches I used iron-on applications. I found a great selection at Hobby Lobby. The applications come with instuctions, but the instructions vary based on what you use. It really is fun and easy once you get the hang of it!

One Little Fishy
Get ready for a picture overload, because yesterday the Williamson family went to Cincinnati to visit the aquarium. We had been wanting to take a "daycation" for quite some time now and since it is still unbelievably frigid (it snowed again yesterday) the aquarium seemed like the perfect place. Although a bit crowded (I guess a lot of people had the same idea) it was really nice and we had a good time. I wasn't sure how into the whole thing Everett would be, but he did seem to like looking at the fish and even banged on the glass in excitement several times. After we had done the whole walk through, we went out to lunch at Johnny Rocket's, which is a nice diner. I was craving french fries and a root beer float and believe or not, Eric introduced me to onion rings. I am now a fan! The trip was short and sweet and we even got back in time for me to start a project I had been wanting to do (see post below). I look forward to many more day trips :)
Michelle's Boutique
I really love handmade, monogrammed baby clothing, but finding what I want can be hard and it can get pricey. So, I decided to give it a try myself and it was really fun! Every now and then I attempt to be creative and crafty and this time I was pleased with the results. I am thinking I will make Everett a cute birthday shirt and I have even more ideas for more. Here are the first few I created last night.

Nine Months
Well big boy turned 9 months on Monday. Today was his 9 month well child visit with the nurse practitioner. He was such a good boy and performed all his "tricks" for her so she could check his development. Here are Everett's stats:
Weight: 24.5 pounds (90th percentile)
Height: 28 in. (90th percentile)
Head Circumference: 75th percentile
Hemoglobin: 12.5 Okay, I'll be honest. When the nurse told me this number and I nodded my head and said "Oh great." Then I fessed up and told her I had no idea what that meant. She explained when they ran his blood test the results showed that is iron and other vitamins are great. Most babies hang out at around 11, so he is doing wonderfully!
Motor: Ev is not exactly crawling yet. He has recently started to army crawl and scoot. He definitely gets around, however his tummy is not off the floor yet. He is getting there!
Verbal: Ev is babbling up a storm and produces a lot of different sounds. He has said "mama" and "dada" indiscriminately, yet the other day he looked right at Eric and said, "dada." Yeah Ev! The mama and the speech therapist in me are so proud :)
Teeth: Everett has his two lower teeth now and looks so cute. He loves to get his teeth brushed.
Nutrition: Everett is now eating more table foods. He has mastered the pincer grasp and loves cheerios. The other night he actually ate what we were eating for dinner.
This is actually the best picture I was able to get of Ev and his sign.

A New Love
Eric and I had celebrated Valentine's Day a little early this year since last weekend my mom was in town and babysat Everett. We went out to eat at Mimi's Cafe and had a great time. Yesterday we spent all day together as a family. We didn't do too much in the way of gifts. I was really wanting chocolate so Eric got me a box and I got him a Toblerone candy bar. That was enough to make me happy. Hope you had a great day celebrating the day with the loved ones in your life! Fun Valentine's Day Cards

When Nana Came to Town
Everett's Nana (my mom) flew in this weekend. It was so nice to see her and we had so much fun! Our weekend was full of shopping, eating, playing....Everett grows so fast, so I love showing our family his new "tricks" each time we get to visit. My mom left last night and I can't believe it but today Everett started to "army crawl." He is on his way to full on crawling! Also, he has a new facial expression where he wrinkles up his nose. We call it his "cheesy" grin. I have tried to capture it on camera, but you know how that goes. I will keep trying. Overall, a very fun weekend.
On a very different note, please join me in praying for the Mcclenahan family. I love reading blogs and I ran across this blog tonight that really touched my heart. This family just yesterday lost their 10 month old daughter to cancer. She was diagnosed just 3 weeks ago. As I read their story I was blessed by their testimony and their incredible faith in the Lord. I cried over what they are going through right now and it made me truly appreciate the little life that is sleeping in the room next door. In fact, I snuck into Everett's room just to look at him sleeping in his crib. It is so easy to take life for granted. He gives and He takes away. Blessed be His name. Everett with his Nana
