This post is dedicated to snow and all its wonder. The snow was good to me today. It allowed me to stay at home from work and be with my family. We watched movies. We drank hot chocolate. We made a fancy lunch. Played. We made today a snow-themed day and had so much fun! I thought this was an appropriate shirt for today (I just noticed...this pic was taken right after lunch and those are sweet potatoes in his ear....ick).

Denim Darling and a New Chair
Everett wore this outfit today. It was one of his Christmas gifts from my parents. On the hanger I wasn't so sure, but he has a way of making things look really cute. Also, I thought I would display a picture of his new chair. I ordered it from Pottery Barn Kids. Isn't it cute!?! It has a handle on the back and I can just imagine him one day dragging it around the house. Little boys are so fun!
When Gigi Came to Visit
Everett's Gigi came to visit us last week. Eric had a J-term class and I of course had to work, so Gigi spent all week with the Ev. It was such an incredible blessing to have her here....especially since Everett got sick. On Tuesday we went to the pediatrician and found out he had RSV. Yuck. Everett loves his Gigi and it is fun to watch their relationship. Here are a few pictures of their week together. And by the way, I do realize that the picture of Everett with the breathing mask is pretty pathetic, but he is now fully recovered, praise the Lord.

Tag You're It!
Alright, so I normally don't do tags, but this one is fun. So here are the rules:
1.) Go to where you store your digital photos and open the 4th folder.
2.) Go to the 4th picture and post it.
3.) Explain the picture.
4.) Tag 4 additonal people.
This picture was taken in October of 2005 of our dog Maggie. I definitely had baby fever going, so Eric appeased me by letting us buy a puppy. Here she is sleeping on the couch a couple of days after we brought her home.
Okay....I now tag Lydia, Rachel, Jennifer, and Jaimie

The Scoop On.....
Warning. This post is incredibly random and somewhat graphic. Reader discretion is advised.
Never in all my days did I ever think I would discuss or deal with poop as much as I do on a daily basis. Having a baby will do this to you. When Everett was first born, Eric and I would actually talk about what his poop looked like. For his first appointment at the pediatrician, I distinctly remember the doctor asking, "So, how is his poop?" Hmm, how do you respond to that? I even remember looking at a baby book that discussed, in detail mind you, what an infant's poop should look like and had pictures to accompany, just in case you still were unsure. Even now...as Everett is approaching the 8 month mark, the inner workings of my son's bowels still continue to be a topic of discussion. It is not an uncommon occurrence where I am required to drain the bathtub due to a poopy incident. Just last night, while Everett was taking a bath and I was reading him his Bible story, he looked over at me and I knew. He had that look in his eye and began grunting. "No Everett. Please don't......" And then it happened. Poop. Oh well. Being pooped on, changing poop, and/or dealing with poop is all worth it. However Eric and I will continue to ask the question..."How could something so sweet and little, create something so foul?"

A Merry Little Christmas
My family flew in for Everett's first Christmas. The first night they were here the windchill just happened to be -10! Poor Floridians....they didn't see it coming. Come to think of it, I think that's the coldest we have ever experienced Louisville as well. Despite the bitter cold, we had a very fun week. We shopped, cooked, went to the movies (Marley and Me.....bring a case of tissues), and had a lot of fun with Everett. The night before Christmas, Everett must have been very excited because he woke up every two hours! He hasn't done that in months. Christmas day brought many memories and new traditions. Everett has definitely brought a whole new meaning to Christmas; now that Eric and I are parents, we can better understand God's love for His children. James 1:17: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above coming down from the Father of lights from whom there is no variation of light or shadow due to change."
